territory / camping life
The question that everybody ask, and we can say really everybody, the first question our guests when they arrive at Baia Verde camping make: what must we absolutely see on Lake Garda? What are the places not to be missed during our holiday? The list could be almost infinite, the area around Lake Garda is rich in cultural centers, historical places, monuments, museums, amusement parks, nature parks, scenic spots and so on. So You are spoiled for choice. Today we certainly try to make order and to draw up a list of Must-See for the Brescia side of the Garda Lake and its surroundings. Enjoy and have lots of fun!

1) THE ROCK OF MANERBA

La Rocca di Manerba” is one of the most beautiful viewpoints in the south of the lake, so if you want to delight your eyes you have to make this excursion on foot, a very simple walk suitable also for children, that will take you through the Valtenesi hills to the ruins of the Castle and the famous Archaeological Civic Museum. Once you reach the highest point you can admire the lake and the beautiful island of San Biagio from above.

2) THE ISLAND OF SAN BIAGIO

Better known as the Island of Rabbits, this is an ideal location to spend a summer day under the sunny sky at the beach, with your feet immersed in crystal clear water. You can reach it easily on foot when the lake withdraws and the water level decreases or you can take advantage of the taxi boat service (Euro 2.00). Being a private beach, with a bar and related services, the entry cost for the whole day is Euro 5.00. Do not forget to take some pictures with the bunnies that roam free on the island.

3) THE ISLAND OF GARDA

Another important place for our lake, considered one of the most fascinating and elegant, the “Isola del Garda” of the Cavazza family. It hosts a wonderful and ancient Venetian neo-gothic style palace built around 1900 and extraordinary colorful and fragrant Italian gardens. A real natural open-air museum. The Cavazza family still today takes care of the whole area with passion, to offer visitors a pleasant and unforgettable experience. In fact, throughout the year, excursions are organized on the island, which include a boat trip, a guided tour of the island of about 2 hours and a welcome drink.

4) THE ITALIAN VITTORIALE

The “Vittoriale degli Italiani” located in Gardone Riviera was the residence of Gabriele d'Annunzio, a complex of buildings, streets, squares, an outdoor theater, waterways and gardens close to Lake Garda. Today it is a Foundation and open to public that attracts more than 220,000 visitors from all over the world each year, thanks in part to the Tener-a-Mente Festival which hosts world-renowned artists for magnificent outdoor concerts.

5) MU.SA

MU.SA is a very modern museum inaugurated in 2015 dedicated entirely to the art and culture of the area, which houses permanent art collections and temporary exhibitions of great renown. The purpose of this museum is to make known the identity, the culture and the great treasures more or less hidden in the city of Salò and the surrounding areas, without forgetting how much they have enriched the entire national heritage.

6) IL MONTE BALDO

Compared to our camping on Lake Garda, Monte Baldo is exactly on the opposite of the lake, on the east coast. However, it is really worth it, so we include it in this very rich list of things to see during your holidays. This breathtaking excursion includes: the crossing of the lake by boat, the cableway ascent from Malcesine up to Tratto Spino (1800m) and from here it is pure magic, the panorama from the Monte Baldo will reserve to all of you emotions from tears in the eyes, to see the power and the beauty of nature at your feet.

7) CAVES OF CATULLO

The “Grotte di Catullo” are an ancient archaeological area very precious for the whole lake, we are in the south, on the peninsula of the municipality of Sirmione. The remains of this ancient residential villa are among the largest and best preserved in northern Italy, we speak of about 2 hectares for the villa and an olive grove of more than 1500 trees. Also in this case, there is a museum with specialized guides who can present you this historical heritage.

8) GARDALAND & OTHERS

We come to the fun, here is the number 1 amusement park in Europe but really known all over the world ... Gardaland! Prezzemolo's house is ready to welcome families and  to offer you a day full of adrenaline, laughter, somersaults and fun. Here you will find an area dedicated to the youngest children with games designed for their age and the rest of the park for "the older ones" with the famous roller coaster, the Blue Tornado and so on.
Nearby we do not forget to present other theme parks such as Movieland, dedicated to movies and cartoons, Caneva World, an entirely aquatic park and Natura Viva, a huge wildlife park.

9) THE TERRACE OF THE SHIVER

We are in Tremosine, a "mountain" village among the most beautiful in Italy. To reach it you have to go along the “Strada della Forra”, considered a real event, dug in the rocks, between tight curves and galleries you can admire the truly unique naturalistic views. “La Terrazza del Brivido” is connected to the Hotel Paradiso, a landmark for tourists, built on the edge and overlooking the lake, from which you can see almost the entire surface of Lake Garda.

10) LOTS OF MOUNTAIN TRAILS

As you may have understood, nature is still the undisputed landowner of the area around the lake. For this reason we can recommend for your holidays on Lake Garda a series of itineraries to follow on foot or by mountain bike to discover the wildest and most characteristic landscapes, one of them is the Ponale path, in Riva del Garda. Recently renovated and secured, it is one of the most famous and popular in the summer months, ideal to do both on foot and by mountain bike, really exciting.
